We needed internal doors to match the originals in our 1920s house after building work. Had quotes from a few places for bespoke (non standard sizes and rare style) but the prices were really high so we’d decided to go for doors that weren’t a match but could be made in our non standard size by an on-line supplier down south somewhere .  A friend mentioned someone he knew from years ago who ‘did that sort of thing’ and that’s how we came across Hilton & Bennett.  Almost didn’t bother getting them to quote but so glad we did.  The quote was done quickly and was significantly less than others.  Being honest it was still more than we imagined we’d have to pay when we set out but we were naive obviously.   They sent someone out free of charge to check it all over when we said we were a bit nervous about our measurements.  The doors were made in a week and we picked them up the other day .  They’re solid and beautiful.  They’ve been primed ready for painting and the finish is smooth & silky.  The joiner who measured up took away a piece of our trim and said they’d match it if they had the right cutter.
